Technical Specification of the 20′ ISO 1CC Steel Dry Cargo Container

Shipping containers of the ISO 1CC type represent a standardized unit for international cargo transport, designed according to the strict standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The 20′ x 8′ x 8’6″ type 1CC container is one of the most widely used container types in global logistics due to its versatility and ability to transport a wide range of cargo. This container type is designed for maritime transport (on deck and below deck), road and rail transport worldwide. The container is designed to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C without affecting the strength of the basic structure and watertightness. It meets the requirements of international standards including ISO 668, ISO 1496-1, CSC (Convention for Safe Containers), TIR and other certifications necessary for safe and efficient transport.

Dimensions, Weights and Load Capacity of the 1CC Container

Precise adherence to dimensional tolerances is key to the compatibility of containers with various means of transport and handling equipment. The 1CC type container has standardized external dimensions with minimal tolerances that ensure trouble-free stacking and handling.

The base frame consists of two bottom side rails and a total of 19 cross members. Each bottom side rail is made from a 50×160×30×4.5 mm thick cold-formed steel “U” profile. The cross members are made from pressed steel profiles measuring 45×122×45×4.0 mm for standard areas and 75×122×45×4.0 mm for floor joint areas, with the larger profiles reinforced by three stiffeners of 4.0 mm thickness.

The floor consists of six pieces of 28 mm thick 19-layer hard plywood boards (wood species: Apitong or other hardwood), laid longitudinally on the cross members. The floor boards are firmly fastened to individual cross members using galvanized self-tapping screws (shank diameter 8.0 mm × head diameter 16 mm × length 45 mm), with each cross member secured by four screws, and five screws in joint areas. The screw heads are recessed approximately 2 mm below the upper floor surface. Base insulation made of mineral wool is installed beneath the wooden floor.
