Minor optical defects mean only one thing for you – a more favourable purchase price while maintaining full functionality and long service life.
Dimensions, load capacity and volume of the 20-foot container
A standard 20-foot container offers external dimensions of approximately 6,058 × 2,438 × 2,591 mm (length × width × height). The internal cargo space then has dimensions of around 5,898 × 2,352 × 2,385 mm, which means a usable volume of approximately 33.2 m³. The maximum gross load capacity of the container reaches up to 30,480 kg, while the own weight of the empty container (tare) is around 2,200 kg. This leaves a net load capacity of approximately 28,280 kg for the cargo. This capacity and volume is more than sufficient for storing heavy building materials, stonemasonry semi-finished products and bulky equipment. The dimensions are approximate and may always vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.
One-trip IICL 6 quality – what does it mean?
The abbreviation IICL 6 designates containers that have completed only one sea journey and then passed a certified inspection according to IICL (Institute of International Container Lessors) standards. In practice, these are very well-preserved units that are structurally one hundred per cent in order, fully watertight and cargo-worthy. Unlike brand new containers, they may have minor cosmetic flaws – a few scratches, smaller dents on the walls or insignificant paint abrasions. It is precisely these minor optical defects that bring significant cost savings, without in any way affecting the safety and reliability of the container for storage purposes. The exterior appearance is clean, uniform and fully corresponds to practical use, where function clearly wins over perfect shine.
Color RAL 7016 – anthracite grey elegance
The RAL 7016 shade, known as anthracite grey, brings a restrained and modern look that fits practically into any environment. The darker grey tone is not only aesthetically neutral, but also very practical – everyday dirt and dust show on it less, which you will appreciate especially in operations with higher dust levels. The colour is applied with a high-quality industrial paint that resists weathering, UV radiation and mechanical abrasion in the long term. The anthracite container will thus look representative even after years of use.
Easy door opening with 3 EOD bars (Easy Open Door)
One of the striking comfort features is the EOD door opening system – Easy Open Door with three bars. This mechanism greatly facilitates handling the massive container wings. Even if the doors have been closed for a long time, you can easily open them without excessive force. Smooth operation is ensured by the precise seating of the bars in the hinges and minimises the risk of jamming. For daily access to stored materials, this is an exceptionally practical feature that saves time and effort.
10× ventilation openings – optimal air circulation
Ten integrated ventilation openings ensure continuous air flow inside the container. This helps prevent moisture condensation, mould growth and mustiness of stored items. For stonemasons, this property is key – natural stone as well as cement mixtures require a dry and well-ventilated environment to prevent degradation of their properties or corrosion of metal tools.
Minor optical defects = more favourable price
This particular container bears minor aesthetic traces from its first journey – a few surface scratches and slight paint deformations. These defects are purely visual and have no effect on strength, tightness or safety. It is precisely thanks to them that we can offer the container on significantly more favourable terms than if it were in perfect condition. For a stonemasonry operation, where functionality comes first, this is an ideal ratio of price and utility value.
Storage container for stonemasons – advantages and uses
A storage container represents a universal and durable storage space for stonemasons and stonemasonry workshops. Its robust steel construction resists impacts, the pressure of heavy materials and bad weather. Locked with massive doors, it also protects valuable equipment against theft.
What can be stored in the container:
- Stone blocks, slabs, paving cubes and kerbstones
- Gravel, sand, cement and lime in bags or in bulk
- Stonemasonry tools – saws, grinders, drills, hammers, chisels
- Protective equipment, work clothes and footwear
- Office supplies, documentation and small portable devices
How much fits in a 20-foot container:
The volume of 33 m³ makes it possible to store, for example, dozens of stone slabs or several tons of bulk raw materials. With a stone weight of around 2.5–3 t/m³, it is theoretically possible to load up to 28 tons of material, which is quite sufficient for ordinary stonemasonry needs. The container can thus hold material for several orders at once, without you having to deal with intermediate storage.
Who is the container suitable for:
- Stonemasonry workshops and manufacturers of tombstones, cladding and staircase steps
- Construction companies that carry out stone cladding and paving
- Sellers of stone and building materials
- Smaller quarries and processing operations that need a mobile warehouse directly at the extraction site
Where to place the container and where it is most used in the Czech Republic:
The container can be placed practically anywhere on a hardened surface – in a yard, at a construction site, in the area of a quarry or a stonemasonry workshop. In the Czech Republic, it is most suitable for areas with active stone extraction and processing:
- Liberec and Jablonec regions (granite quarries)
- Jeseníky and the vicinity of Šumperk (granite and marble)
- Beroun region and Bohemian Karst (limestone)
- Broumov and Děčín regions (sandstone)
- Silesia and northern Moravia (marble and granite)
In these regions, the container will find immediate use as a safe warehouse for stone, tools and auxiliary materials.
Other options and ideas:
- Mobile stonemasonry warehouse – the container can be moved closer to the current order, thus saving material transport costs.
- Temporary warehouse during monument renovations – when working on historical buildings, you will appreciate a lockable space directly on site.
- Stone showroom – place shelves with samples of slabs and paving in the container and make it easier for customers to choose.
- Separate chemical storage – sealants, adhesives and impregnating agents require a dry and ventilated environment, which the container with ten ventilation openings safely fulfils.
