A place where you can safely store seasonal equipment, garden equipment, tools, and materials you need for the daily care of your land. In the following lines, you will learn why a container is an ideal garden storage unit and what possibilities it offers.

Advantages of container storage

Storage in a shipping container has many undeniable advantages. Containers are resistant to weather conditions, strong, and secure. In addition, they provide enough space even for bulkier items, and thanks to lockable doors, they protect stored items from theft and bad weather. A storage container can be placed almost anywhere in the garden and moved at any time as needed. A decommissioned container is also a more affordable option compared to new models.

What can be stored in a garden container

The possibilities for storage in a container are almost unlimited. Typically, you can store:

  • Garden tools and equipment – lawnmowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other tools.
  • Construction and garden materials – bags of soil, mulch, sand, gravel, paving, planks, plasterboard, bags of cement, or other construction materials.
  • Seasonal equipment – garden furniture, umbrellas, grills, pool accessories, sunbeds, toys for children.
  • Garden maintenance items – sprayers, watering cans, hoses, water containers, fertilizers, protective equipment, and work clothes.
  • Sports equipment and bicycles – bicycles, scooters, skates, balls, badminton, tennis, or pétanque equipment.

With thoughtful arrangement, you can create a clear system of shelves, hooks, and storage boxes in the container, so you will always have everything at hand and safely stored.

How much fits into a 20-foot container?

The most commonly used is the so-called 20-foot container with an internal length of approximately 5.9 meters, a width of 2.35 meters, and a height of 2.39 meters. That means almost 33 cubic meters of storage space! You can easily store all common garden tools, equipment, building materials, and seasonal items in such a container, and there will still be room left.
