The decommissioned 20-foot shipping container (approximately 6 meters long) is the most sought-after option due to its versatility and accessible size. The quality designation “AS IS 2” means that it is a container after the end of its transport life, which is still fully functional as storage space. The advantage is a robust steel construction and resistance to weather conditions. Transport of the container to Jindřichův Hradec and elsewhere in the Czech Republic is free of charge if the conditions below are met!

Standard dimensions of a 20-foot container:

  • Length: approx. 6.06 m
  • Width: approx. 2.44 m
  • Height: approx. 2.59 m
  • Internal volume: approximately 33 m³
  • Load capacity: up to 28,000 kg (this is more than sufficient for storing ordinary goods)

These dimensions and parameters make it a great space for both storing material and as a base for various equipment. The dimensions are approximate and may always vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.

Storage at stables: Decommissioned shipping container as an ideal solution

Decommissioned shipping container, often referred to as “AS IS”, is still extremely strong, safe and offers surprisingly wide range of uses after the end of its transport service. Especially at stables, it becomes a practical helper for storing everything that needs to be at hand – from tools to horse supplies. The steel construction of the container resists weather conditions and unauthorized interference, which guarantees the safety of stored items.

Advantages of a decommissioned container for storage

  • Durability and safety: Shipping containers are constructed to withstand extreme conditions at sea. This robustness is also great for storage at stables – it will protect your equipment from rain, snow, wind and thieves.
  • Immediate use: No complicated modifications are needed. The container can be used immediately after delivery as a warehouse.
  • Mobility: If you decide to change the layout of the area or move the container to another location, moving it is easy with the help of technology.
  • Economic advantage: Compared to building a new warehouse building, purchasing a decommissioned container is significantly cheaper and faster.
  • Ecological dimension: You are giving the container a new life and saving the environment.

What can be stored in the container?

During the operation of stables, it is constantly necessary to have various types of equipment and materials available. Decommissioned shipping container provides a safe and dry space, for example, for:

  • Tools and accessories: Shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, brush cutters, hoses, spare parts and other tools for maintaining the area.
  • Feed and bedding: Bales of hay, bags of oats or granules, straw or wood shavings for bedding.
  • Equipment for horses: Saddles, bridles, blankets, halters, brushes, buckets, bandages, first aid kits and other necessities for daily horse care.
  • Seasonal equipment: Salt licks, insect sprays, tarpaulins for covering hay or hay for the winter.
  • Cleaning products: Buckets, brooms, disinfectants and everything needed to maintain cleanliness in and around the stable.

How much fits in a 20-foot container?

Classic 20-foot shipping container offers internal volume approximately 33 cubic meters and a load capacity of up to 28 tons. This means that you can comfortably store not only a complete set of tools and equipment for the stable, but also supplies of feed for several months. In practice, it can store, for example:

  • Up to 60 bales of hay of standard size,
  • All seasonal tools and machines (small tractor, mowers, carts),
  • Shelves with small material and accessories,
  • Several barrels of water or feed.
