Decommissioned shipping containers of 20 feet (approximately 6 meters) represent an affordable and robust storage space option. We offer containers in “AS IS” condition, meaning they have completed a long service life in maritime transport and meet basic storage requirements, but are not suitable for further construction modifications. Container delivery to Milevsko and elsewhere throughout the Czech Republic is free upon meeting the conditions listed below (purchase of two or more units)!

Standard dimensions of a 20-foot container:

Containers have a waterproof wooden floor, are watertight and resistant to weather conditions. They are ideal for storing various types of goods, equipment or tools. Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.

Use of decommissioned shipping containers for river surfing

Shipping containers that no longer serve cargo transport purposes find wide application beyond their original use. One innovative way to use them is to store all equipment needed for river surfing. A decommissioned container, although not suitable for construction modifications, offers robust and secure storage for sports equipment and facilities for river surfing schools.

Advantages of storage in a container

Using a decommissioned shipping container provides several key benefits. The container is secure, lockable and protected against weather conditions, which is crucial especially for water sports where equipment is often exposed to moisture. The steel construction ensures high resistance to vandalism and theft. The container can also be easily placed directly at the river surfing area, which facilitates access and logistics.

What can be stored

River surfing requires diverse equipment. In the container, you can safely store surfboards of various types and sizes – from shortboards through longboards to special boards designed for beginners, including foam models. There is also room for wetsuits and other protective clothing, helmets, vests, boots, paddles, waxes, fins and other small accessories. There is also space for personal items of riders, spare parts, tools and equipment maintenance supplies.

Storage for river surfing schools

River surfing schools require organized and secure facilities for storing large quantities of equipment. The container can easily be transformed into a central warehouse where dozens of boards, wetsuits, vests and teaching aids can be systematically stored. Thanks to the ability to divide the interior space with shelves or racks, it is easy to keep track of all equipment and quickly distribute it to course participants.

Tools and maintenance

Regular maintenance of equipment is an essential part of river surfing operations. A decommissioned container provides ample space for storing tools, cleaning and repair supplies, spare fins, adhesives and other necessities. This makes it possible to perform minor repairs or maintenance directly on site without having to transport equipment elsewhere.

Sales facilities and other options

The container can also serve as a warehouse for sales inventory – for example, new or used boards, wetsuits, waxes, fins and other accessories that can be offered to visitors of river surfing locations. If needed, the interior space can be modified so that part of it serves as a small sales corner or pickup point for a rental service.

Capacity of a 20-foot container

The most common type is a 20-foot (6 meters long) decommissioned shipping container. Its usable volume is approximately 33 m³, which allows you to store, for example, 25–40 surfboards (depending on type and storage method), several dozen wetsuits, vests and helmets, and still have plenty of space left for shelves with tools and maintenance supplies. For the needs of a school or larger team of river surfers, such a container is an ideal solution.

Practical storage tips

To maximize space, we recommend installing shelf systems, hooks and holders for boards and clothing. Ventilation openings ensure air circulation and minimize moisture buildup inside the container. Regular maintenance, such as checking door and lock tightness, will extend the lifespan of stored equipment.

A decommissioned shipping container is a simple, secure and reliable solution for storing all equipment associated with river surfing. It provides ample space not only for individuals, but also for schools, clubs or rental services. If you are looking for an efficient way to safely and clearly store surfboards, clothing, tools and goods for sale, a decommissioned container is the right choice.
