Decommissioned Marine Containers 20 Feet – Dimensions and Technical Parameters

A standard 20-foot container has:

  • length 6.06 m
  • width 2.44 m
  • height 2.59 m
  • volume approximately 33 m³
  • load capacity up to 28,000 kg (in practice depends on the condition of the specific unit)

The interior space is ideal for storing both bulky and small items. The steel construction guarantees resistance to weather conditions and long service life. Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.

Use of Decommissioned Marine Containers for Legal Cannabis Growers

In recent years, demand for legal cannabis and its products has been growing, bringing new challenges and opportunities for growers. One of them is the question of safe, flexible and reliable storage. Decommissioned marine containers represent a practical solution that meets even the most demanding requirements for storage facilities for legal cannabis growers.

Why Choose Decommissioned Marine Containers for Cannabis Storage

Decommissioned marine containers are no longer suitable for construction conversions or major structural interventions, but their robustness and durability remain. They are ideal for storing everything a grower needs – from harvest through raw materials to equipment and tools. Due to their construction, they offer a high degree of security and protection against external influences, which is essential for cannabis and accessory storage.

What Can Be Stored in a Container

Decommissioned marine containers provide variability and flexible internal space division. Growers can store in them:

  • cannabis products – dried flowers, extracts, oils or finished products
  • raw materials and additives – fertilizers, soil substrates, minerals and other components necessary for cultivation
  • equipment – growing tents, lamps, ventilation, filters, hydroponic systems
  • tools – scissors, scales, measuring instruments, dryers
  • maintenance materials – cleaning products, spare parts, protective equipment
  • products for sale – packaged products ready for shipment or presentation

Thanks to lockable doors and the possibility of additional security, the contents are protected not only against theft, but also against dust, moisture and pests.

Benefits of Storage in a Marine Container

The main benefits include:

  • robustness of construction – containers are made of solid steel, resistant to weather conditions, moisture and mechanical damage
  • mobility – the container can be moved to another location within the facility as needed
  • modularity – they can be stacked or combined for larger storage areas
  • quick installation – no need to build new warehouses, the container is immediately ready for use
  • possibility of regulating the internal environment – containers can be easily equipped with ventilation, insulation or air conditioning
  • compliance with regulations – safe storage of products helps meet legislative requirements for cannabis storage and protection

How Much Fits in a 20-Foot Container

Standard 20-foot (6 meters long) decommissioned marine containers offer an internal volume of approximately 33 m³ and usable floor space of over 13 m². For reference, such a container can fit:

  • several pallets with packaged products or substrates
  • dozens of bags of fertilizers and soil
  • complete equipment for a medium-sized growing facility (tents, lamps, ventilation)
  • shelves with tools, dryers and other equipment
  • a separate section for finished products intended for shipment

For larger operations, multiple containers can be used simultaneously or a 40-foot variant can be chosen.

Modification Options and Further Use

Although a decommissioned container is not intended for extensive construction modifications, it can be easily equipped with shelves, racks, LED lighting or security locks. The interior space can be flexibly divided according to current needs. An advantage is also the possibility of external marking of the container according to its purpose or clear inventory records.

Decommissioned marine containers represent a reliable and secure solution for storing everything needed for the cultivation and processing of legal cannabis. They enable quick response to changes in operations, protect supplies and equipment, and offer flexible use without the need for costly construction investments. If you are looking for efficient storage space, a marine container is the right choice for every grower.
