Using waste containers for garages and tyre workshops
Waste containers are increasingly used for a wide range of commercial purposes. One of the most efficient uses is storage in garages and tyre workshops. These containers are sturdily built, weatherproof and have a large storage space, making them ideal for storing equipment, tools, spare parts and other items needed for the operation of these facilities.
Advantages of using storage containers
Storage containers are designed to withstand the extreme conditions encountered in global transport. This makes them extremely stable, waterproof and resistant to mechanical damage and weather conditions. These features make them ideal for storing items in garages and tyre workshops where items need to be protected from moisture, dust, cold or heat.
Another important advantage is their mobility. The containers can be easily moved if necessary, which is useful when converting a building or expanding a business. In addition, they do not require any major structural preparation and only need a flat surface on which to be placed.
What can be stored in containers?
Body and tyre workshops have many important items that need to be stored efficiently. Containers are suitable for
- Equipment and tools: thanks to the large space available, all kinds of tools, diagnostic instruments and equipment can be stored. All items are safely protected and easily accessible.
- Spare parts: Body parts, engines, gearboxes and other components can be stored properly and safely in the container.
- Tyres and wheels. Thanks to their size, they can accommodate a large number of tyres, which is often essential for tyre shops.
- The large quantities of tyres that can be stored ona construction site make them ideal for a large number of tyres.
How much can a 20-metre container hold?
One of the most commonly used container types is the 20-metre container, which offers a lot of storage space. It has a capacity of about 33 cubic metres, which is equivalent to a pallet of about 10-12 euro pallets. This space can be used to store, for example, several dozen sets of tyres, a complete set of workshop equipment or a large number of spare parts. For a tyre workshop, it is the ideal space for seasonal storage of customers’ tyres.
Possibilities and ideas for future use
In addition to storage, the unused container can also be used for other purposes. With a little modification, it can be used as a mobile workshop for small repairs or parts manufacturing. Alternatively, it can be converted into an office for service staff or a break-out room for employees.
An interesting idea is to use the container as a storage space to collect and recycle used parts and materials that are no longer needed, thus supporting environmentally friendly activities. Containers can also be equipped with shelving or hanging systems to organise the space more efficiently.
Easy maintenance and long life
Another advantage of sea containers is their low maintenance costs. If they are correctly set up and the condition of paints or seals is checked from time to time, containers can easily last for decades. This longevity makes them a cost-effective solution for long-term storage.
Decommissioned shipping containers are a good choice for workshops and tyre shops looking for an efficient storage solution. They are spacious, durable and versatile. Whether you need to store spare parts, tyre kits, tools or repair materials, shipping containers are a safe and practical solution. What’s more, the containers are flexible and easily manoeuvrable, so your current needs are covered.
