A decommissioned construction container of 20 feet (6 meters) in AS IS 10 condition is an ideal solution for anyone who needs to quickly and efficiently solve storage of material, equipment or tools on construction sites or in road‑maintenance operations. The container can be delivered to Sušice, or anywhere throughout the Czech Republic, free of charge after meeting the conditions listed below.

Dimensions, load capacity and volume of the 20‑foot container

  • External dimensions: 6.06 m (length) × 2.44 m (width) × 2.59 m (height)
  • Internal dimensions: approx. 5.90 m × 2.35 m × 2.39 m
  • Volume: about 33 m³
  • Load capacity: up to 28 000 kg

This container provides ample space for storing large quantities of material, equipment or spare parts. Dimensions are indicative and may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer.

Quality AS IS 10

The container is sold in AS IS (as it stands) condition, meaning it shows signs of wear from previous use and is not intended for sea transport, but it still offers a safe and protected storage space for your needs. For these decommissioned containers, major conversions, structural alterations or complex modifications are generally not recommended – their main advantage is reliability and spaciousness for storage.

Efficient use of a decommissioned construction container for road workers

Decommissioned construction containers find wide application where they are no longer suitable for conversions or structural interventions. Road workers can make perfect use of these containers, especially as safe, spacious and flexible storage spaces for all the equipment, material and supplies needed for road maintenance and everyday operations.

Advantages of storing in a container

The main advantage of a decommissioned construction container is its robust, galvanized construction, which protects stored items from weather and unauthorized access. The container can be easily moved by crane or forklift, allowing rapid adaptation to current needs directly on site. Thanks to standardized dimensions (most commonly 20 feet – 6 × 2.4 m) it offers sufficient space for systematic storage of everything required.

What can be stored in the container?

  • Materials: The container is ideal for storing bulk materials, cement bags, winter salt, gravel, asphalt mixes, paints and other construction supplies needed for road repairs and maintenance.
  • Equipment: Inside you can safely store work clothing, reflective vests, traffic signs, barriers, cones, sand bags, drums or mobile lighting.
  • Workshop parts and spare parts: The container can be fitted with shelving and racks, allowing tidy storage of small spare parts, screws, nuts, hoses, seals, filters, bulbs or fuses.
  • Tools and machinery: Safe storage of hand and power tools, mowers, chainsaws, vibrating plates, compressors, pumps, fuel canisters or small construction machines.
  • Maintenance and service supplies: The container provides a base for storing cleaning agents, lubricants, reflective tapes, wipes, hoses, shovels, brooms, sweep brushes and other items necessary for regular upkeep.
  • Employee belongings: Inside you can create a place for workers’ personal items, protective gear, first‑aid kits and simple social facilities – e.g., a break table, chairs or a small wardrobe.

Security and asset protection

Containers are normally equipped with sturdy grates and a lockable hanging lock, which significantly reduces the risk of theft. Insurers often regard storage in a container as a high level of security. The container’s construction protects the contents from rain, wind and dust, keeping materials and tools dry and safe.

Options for internal layout

The interior of a 20‑foot (≈33 m²) container can be flexibly arranged according to current needs. It can be divided into sections – for example a material store, a shelving area for spare parts, and a tool zone. With shelves, hooks, hangers and lockable boxes you gain clear overview of stored items and improve work efficiency.

How much fits into a 20‑foot container?

A standard 20‑foot container holds roughly 33 m² of floor space and about 33 m³ of volume. This means you can comfortably store dozens of material bags, several racks of spare parts, larger and smaller tools, work equipment and seasonal gear. The container can accommodate several hundred traffic cones, drums of material, and pallets of salt while still leaving room for a rest area for staff.

Why choose a decommissioned construction container for road workers?

  • Fast and safe on‑site storage solution
  • Protection against theft and weather
  • Flexibility in relocation and layout adaptation
  • Ability to store a wide range of equipment, tools and materials
  • Long service life thanks to robust construction
  • Efficient use of space without the need for building modifications

A decommissioned construction container is therefore an ideal solution for any road worker who needs to store material, parts, tools and equipment efficiently, safely and clearly on the job site or at a base. Choose this proven storage method to simplify your work and protect your assets.
