Use of a decommissioned container for storage in growing facilities
Decommissioned shipping containers that no longer serve their original purpose can gain a new life and become a practical solution for storage in various areas. One of the most popular ways to use them is for storage in growing facilities, where they can offer a wide range of benefits and possibilities. Let’s take a look at what can be stored in such a container, what its advantages are, and how to make the most of the space.
Advantages of container storage
Decommissioned containers offer a robust construction that withstands external influences such as rain, snow, wind or temperature fluctuations. This makes them ideal for storage in any environment. In addition, containers can be modified to suit your needs – from installing shelves to insulation or adding ventilation systems. Another advantage is their mobility, so you can easily move them to where they are most needed.
What can be stored in a container for growing facilities
Growing facilities often require storage space not only for the plants themselves, but also for other necessary equipment. A container can be used, for example, to store the following items:
- substrates and fertilizers: Safe storage of substrates, fertilizers and other chemicals, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
- gardening tools: Containers can be an ideal place to store tools such as shovels, hoes, watering cans or scissors.
- products and harvested crops: Harvested crops, herbs or fruits can be temporarily stored in a dry and stable environment until they are ready for further processing or distribution.
- technological equipment: Ventilation systems, lighting, electrical cables or irrigation systems can be safely stored so that they are always ready for use.
Storage for site maintenance
In addition to growing facilities, containers can also be used to store equipment needed to maintain the entire site. Containers can be equipped with shelves or hanging systems for easy organization of items such as lawnmowers, spare parts, hoses, protective equipment or brooms. Organizing the space in the container allows quick access to any tool, which saves a lot of time during daily maintenance.
Storage of items for employees
A decommissioned container can also serve as a place to store employees’ personal belongings or work equipment. By adding lockable lockers, benches or hangers, you can create a practical and safe space where employees can store their clothes, shoes or work equipment. This is especially appreciated in growing facilities, where it is necessary to maintain a clean and organized environment.
