IICL 6 Quality – A Guarantee of Reliability
IICL 6 quality means that the containers have passed strict inspection according to the standards of the Institute of International Container Lessors. This is one of the most stringent standards on the market, guaranteeing perfect technical condition, long service life, tightness, and safety for your goods or equipment.
RAL 5010 Color – Modern Appearance and Protection
The containers are painted with high-quality paint according to the RAL 5010 colour chart (gentian blue). This shade not only ensures an attractive modern appearance but also provides high resistance to weather conditions, UV radiation, and corrosion. As a result, the container will maintain its appearance and functionality over the long term.
Shipping Containers for IT: Storage, Transport, and Innovation
Shipping containers today are not just the domain of logistics companies. Thanks to their versatility and robustness, they are increasingly used in the IT sector as well. Whether you need to safely store equipment, transport sensitive devices, or are looking for an innovative solution to expand IT infrastructure, a shipping container is the ideal solution.
Uses of Shipping Containers in IT
Shipping containers serve in IT as flexible facilities for various purposes. They can be used, for example, for temporary or long-term storage of servers, backup devices, network components, or data storage media. They also play an important role in transporting IT equipment to remote or temporary workplaces, exhibitions, or trade fairs. Thanks to their robust construction, containers are also suitable for conversion into mobile data centres, backup server rooms, or specialised workshops.
Who Are Containers Suitable For
Shipping containers are particularly appreciated by IT companies, data centres, cloud service providers, schools, research organisations, event agencies, or startups looking for flexible and mobile solutions. They are ideal for companies that frequently relocate technology, need backup spaces, or want to protect investments from external influences.
Storage Options and What Can Be Stored
Containers provide a safe, dry, and well-lockable environment. Servers, computer assemblies, backup power supplies, network cables, switches, racks, backup units, backup media, monitoring equipment, or even specialised IT tools can be stored here. For better organisation, shelves, stands, or air conditioning units can be installed in the interior to ensure optimal conditions.
How Much Fits in a 20-Foot Container
A standard 20-foot container (approx. 33 m³) can hold, for example, up to 8 server racks (depending on their size), hundreds of laptops, or dozens of boxes with peripheral equipment. For storing smaller devices or components, the space can be further divided to maximise capacity.
Transport Options and What to Transport
Shipping containers are designed for easy transport by road, rail, and sea. This means that IT equipment can be safely transported over long distances – for example, when expanding branches, relocating data centres, or participating in international events. During transport, the container protects the contents from weather, dust, and unauthorised access.
Conversion Options for IT
Containers can be easily adapted to specific IT needs. They are most commonly converted into:
- Mobile server rooms or data centres – equipped with air conditioning, racks, power distribution, and security.
- Backup IT workplaces – in case of failure of the main office.
- Testing laboratories – for the development and testing of new technologies in a separate environment.
- IT workshops – for repairs, maintenance, or configuration of equipment.
Advantages of Using Containers in IT
- Security – robust construction resistant to moisture, dust, and vandalism.
- Mobility – the ability to quickly relocate anywhere according to current needs.
- Modularity – easy scalability in line with company or project growth.
- Flexibility – possibility of installation according to individual requirements (electrical wiring, air conditioning, security).
- Cost savings – significantly lower investment and faster implementation compared to constructing permanent buildings.
- Eco-friendliness – using existing containers is environmentally friendly.
Other Uses of Containers in IT
In addition to their main functions, containers can also be used as sales stands for IT equipment, backup data storage in remote locations, or mobile classrooms for IT training. Their versatility allows for the realisation of original projects – such as mobile service vehicles, showrooms, or even temporary offices for IT teams at construction sites or festivals.
Mobility and Recommendations for Use
Thanks to standardised dimensions and transport options, containers can also be used in hard-to-reach or temporary locations. If you need a flexible solution that will protect your IT investments and allow for rapid changes, shipping containers are the right choice.
Ideas for Use in IT
- Creating a mobile data centre to ensure connectivity at festivals.
- A temporary server room during the renovation of company premises.
