Shipping containers are a reliable and cost-effective solution for transport and storage. Their versatility, durability and ease of handling make them an indispensable part of modern logistics. Whether you’re a glass bottle manufacturer or a company in any other industry, a 20-foot shipping container offers you efficiency, security and flexibility.
The shipping container is the ideal solution for glass bottle manufacturers.
Glass bottle manufacturers face many logistical and storage challenges and the shipping container has proven to be the ideal solution. Thanks to its durability, versatility and adaptability to different needs, the shipping container is an excellent partner at all stages of glass bottle production and distribution.
Material handling: safety and efficiency
The production of glass bottles starts with raw materials such as glass sand, soda ash, limestone or recycled glass. These materials are often transported over long distances and the shipping container offers a safe and efficient method of transport. Thanks to the enclosed steel construction, the materials are protected from moisture, dust and other negative influences. Containers are also easy to handle and can be used with a wide range of transport modes – ship, rail and road.
Raw material storage: organisation and protection
Shipping containers are not only a means of transport, but also an ideal place for storage. Glass bottle manufacturers can use them to store raw materials on site. A standard 20-foot container holds around 33 cubic metres of material and can therefore hold a large amount of raw material at a time. This minimizes the need for frequent replenishment, saving time and money.
Transport and storage of finished glass bottles
Finished glass bottles are fragile and must be handled with care. A shipping container is a safe transport method that protects the bottles from damage during transport. It also has the advantage of saving space – up to 10,000 standard glass bottles (depending on size and type of packaging) can fit in a 20-foot container. In addition, the containers are shock and vibration resistant, reducing the risk of bottle breakage.
The container is also ideal for storing finished products. Manufacturers can use it for temporary storage at the factory or at the customer’s site. The container protects the bottles from humidity, temperature fluctuations and dust, which are essential to maintain product quality.
Flexible use of containers in the production process
Glass bottle manufacturers can also use transport containers in other ways. For example, as mobile workshops or on-site offices with space for equipment and workspace for employees. They can also be used as a backdrop for quality control or glass bottle packaging.
Another option is to convert the container into an isothermal warehouse where certain types of products, such as food or beverage bottles, that require stable temperature conditions can be stored.
Recommendations for efficient use
To achieve maximum efficiency, we recommend that the container be equipped with shelves or racks to better organise the stored materials or products. If you wish to use the container for long-term storage or as a workshop, it can be insulated and equipped with air conditioning or heating.
Another good idea is to use older, second-hand containers that can be easily adapted to specific needs. These containers are more affordable and still offer the same functionality as new containers.
