A decommissioned 20-foot (approx. 6-meter) shipping container in AS IS 2 quality represents an affordable and robust storage option for industrial areas, brickyards and smaller businesses. This type of container was previously used in international transport, but is now available for further use, primarily for static storage purposes. Container transport throughout the Czech Republic is free of charge if the conditions listed below are met!

Dimensions and capacity of a 20′ container

  • External length: 6.06 m
  • External width: 2.44 m
  • External height: 2.59 m
  • Internal length: 5.90 m
  • Internal width: 2.35 m
  • Internal height: 2.39 m
  • Volume: approx. 33.2 m³
  • Load capacity: up to 25,000 kg

These dimensions allow efficient use of space for storing everything needed in a brickyard – from tools to building materials to goods for sale to customers.

Dimensions are approximate and may always vary slightly by manufacturer.

Use of a decommissioned container for storage in brickyards

Using a decommissioned container for storage in a brickyard brings a number of benefits:

  • Protection against the weather: Steel walls protect stored material and equipment from rain, wind and dust.
  • Safety: The container can be locked to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Mobility: If necessary, the container can be easily moved to another location in the brickyard.
  • Economy and ecology: By using a decommissioned container, you give a second life to already used materials, which is ecological and at the same time financially advantageous.

What can be stored in a brickyard

A 20-foot container provides enough space for all the needs of a brickyard. Typically stored here are:

  • Tools and work equipment – shovels, wheelbarrows, mixers, power tools.
  • Materials for site maintenance – cleaning products, brushes, bags of sand or salt for winter maintenance.
  • Spare parts and equipment – small spare parts for machines, light bulbs, cables.
  • Goods for sale to customers – building materials, bricks, tiles, bagged cement.
  • Protective work equipment – helmets, gloves, reflective vests.

Thanks to standardized dimensions (a 20-foot container has internal dimensions of approximately 5.9 m x 2.35 m x 2.39 m), a really large amount of equipment and material can fit into it. Depending on the type of stored goods, the capacity can be further increased by using shelves, racks or hanging systems.

Possibilities and ideas for effective use

A decommissioned container can be used in a brickyard not only as a classic warehouse, but also creatively:

  • Workshop for minor repairs: Equip the container with a workbench and basic tools, you will get a protected place for quick repairs.
  • Storage for seasonal items: In summer you store winter equipment and vice versa, everything will be safely stored in one place.
  • Dispensing point for customers: Goods for sale can be prepared in the container, where they are protected and easily accessible.
  • Winterizing equipment: In the winter months, you can safely store machines sensitive to frost and humidity here.

How much fits into a 20-foot container

Imagine that one 20-foot container can fit, for example:

  • several dozen pallets of bricks or blocks
  • complete equipment for site maintenance including mowers, brush cutters and hand tools
  • dozens of bags of cement, lime or other building materials
  • shelves with small spare parts and equipment

The internal volume of over 33 m³ allows for variable arrangement of stored items and at the same time their easy accessibility.

Storage in a container – simplicity and safety

The container can be simply placed on a free area in the brickyard without the need for structural modifications. Thanks to its durable construction, it can withstand even the demanding operating conditions typical of brickyards. The lockable entrance ensures protection against theft and weather, which is especially important for more expensive tools and goods.

A decommissioned shipping container is therefore an ideal solution for every brickyard that is looking for a flexible, durable and safe way of storage. Take advantage of its potential and make it easier to organize your site!
