Dimensions, volume and load capacity of a 20-foot container

20′ is one of the most sought-after sizes on the market – it offers an ideal ratio between capacity and space efficiency. Standard external dimensions are:

  • Length: 6,058 mm
  • Width: 2,438 mm
  • Height: 2,591 mm

Internal dimensions approximately:

  • Length: 5,898 mm
  • Width: 2,352 mm
  • Height: 2,393 mm

Using a decommissioned shipping container for BMX parks – an ideal storage solution

Decommissioned shipping containers are a great choice for storage in BMX park areas. Their robust construction, safety and flexibility allow you to effectively use space that is often limited. In the following paragraphs, you will learn why a container is a beneficial choice for BMX parks and what you can store in it.

Advantages of a container for storage in a BMX park

Shipping containers are designed to withstand extreme conditions at sea – therefore, they are also ideal for outdoor storage in BMX parks. The main advantages are:

  • Weather resistance – The container protects stored equipment from rain, snow and sun.
  • Safety – Massive steel construction with the possibility of locking minimizes the risk of theft.
  • Flexibility of use – You can move the container to another location in the area at any time or transport it to another park.
  • Easy maintenance – Occasional inspection and simple cleaning are sufficient.

What can be stored in the container

The storage options in the container are really wide. For the needs of the BMX park, you can easily store:

  • Equipment for BMX riders – Helmets, protectors, jerseys, spare parts for bicycles, pumps, tools, inner tubes and tires.
  • Tools for track maintenance – Shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, axes, buckets, bags with material for repairing obstacles or the track surface.
  • Technical facilities – Tables, chairs, tents for events, mobile ramps or smaller obstacles, lights, extension cables.
  • Organizational needs – Banners, promotional items, promotional materials, timers, megaphones or walkie-talkies.

Advantages of storing equipment and tools in a container

Storage in a shipping container increases the efficiency of the BMX park operation. Everything you need is in one place and easily accessible. Thanks to the protected space, you don’t have to deal with unnecessary wear and tear of equipment or its loss. In addition, the interior of the container can be easily adapted – add shelves, hanging systems or lockable boxes for more valuable tools.

Layout options and capacity of a 20-foot container

Most often, a 20-foot (approx. 6-meter long) shipping container is used for BMX parks, which offers a storage space of approximately 33 m³. Such a container can comfortably accommodate:

  • Complete equipment for a team of riders (approx. 15–20 bikes, including spare parts and accessories)
  • All tools for routine maintenance of the area
  • Mobile obstacles such as rails, smaller funboxes or ramps
  • Repair material (packages of wood, bags of soil, paving, etc.)
  • Facilities for organizers (folding tables, chairs, tents, advertising panels)

Thanks to the high floor load capacity (usually around 20 tons), there is no problem storing even heavier equipment or material. The interior space can be divided by shelves or partitions, which will facilitate organization and access to all stored items.

A decommissioned shipping container is an excellent solution for efficient, safe and flexible storage of everything that a BMX park and its operators need. Take advantage of the robustness and versatility of the container and get a reliable warehouse, workshop and facilities in one – exactly according to the needs of your area.
