Shipping container insulation
Fast and economical solution
Insulating foil in a shipping container is one of the options to improve the thermal efficiency of the insulation and minimize heat loss. Nowadays, more and more people are turning to converting shipping containers into living or working spaces. One of the key aspects in this conversion is to ensure quality insulation. Shipping container insulation film offers a simple, quick and economical solution to help you achieve optimum thermal efficiency and protection from adverse weather conditions.
Thermal insulation foil
Thermal insulation silver foil is used to maintain a stable temperature inside the container. It is a relatively simple and affordable option that is also easy to install and remove as required. It also takes up little space when folded and is easy to store. Thermal silver foil insulation is particularly effective when the container is exposed to sunlight in hot climates. However, to maintain a stable temperature inside the container, it is also essential to insulate the doors, walls and other parts of the container. Foil alone may not be sufficient if the entire container is not properly insulated. You can buy it from us in the following variants.
Advantages of insulation film
The insulating foil for the shipping container is made of thermo-insulating silver aluminium foil. This material offers several advantages that make it an ideal choice for container insulation:
- Thermal efficiency: the silver aluminium foil reflects the sun's rays, thus limiting the heating of the container and minimising heat loss. This helps maintain a stable temperature inside the container, which is crucial for protecting goods or ensuring comfort inside the living space.
- Easy to install: the insulation film is very easy to install and remove. This allows for quick and efficient deployment of the insulation as needed and any adjustments or repairs without much hassle.
- Space-saving: when folded, the insulation film takes up very little space. This means you can easily store and transport it without taking up valuable space.
- Cost-effective: the insulation film is an affordable solution that offers an excellent price/performance ratio. As a result, you can achieve the required thermal efficiency without having to invest a lot of money.
Use of insulating foil
The insulation film is suitable for different types of shipping containers and their applications. It can be used both in cargo containers carrying temperature-sensitive goods and in containers converted into living or working spaces. When properly installed, the insulation film will ensure that the internal temperature of the container is stable and protected from extreme temperatures, whether it is hot summer days or cold winter nights.
Installation of the insulation film
Installation of the insulation foil is quick and easy. First you need to prepare the surface of the container, which should be clean and dry. You can then gradually unroll the foil and attach it to the walls, ceiling and floor of the container using suitable adhesive or tape. It is important to ensure that the foil is firmly attached and that there are no gaps that could cause heat to escape.
Combination with other insulation materials
Although insulation film offers excellent thermal efficiency, it may be useful to combine it with other insulation materials for maximum effect. For example, you can use sprayed PUR foam or polystyrene boards for additional insulation of the walls and ceiling of the container. This will ensure that the container is perfectly insulated and provides maximum comfort and protection from adverse weather conditions.
Insulating foil for shipping containers is a quick and cost-effective solution to ensure optimum thermal efficiency and protection against extreme temperatures. It offers several advantages such as ease of installation, space saving and cost-effectiveness. When properly installed and combined with other insulating materials, insulation foil can significantly improve comfort and protection inside a shipping container.
Method of attachment to the shipping container
1. The whole shipping container insulation in the folded state takes up little space and is easy to store. It can be easily installed and removed. The insulation jacket is attached to the rear eyelets of the container with the supplied fastening tape. | 2. The upper guide tape is then threaded through the side loops. The carabiner hooks sewn to the insulating jacket are then snapped into the guide tape. The protective foil on the fixing strip is then removed. The entire insulation is then unrolled by pulling on the guide strips. For better adherence of the insulating foil to the container ceiling, the double-sided fixing tape should be pressed against the container ceiling from the inside with a broom or similarly blunt objects. |
3. For loading and unloading, the foil in the door area can be attached to the top of the door with an elastic fastening strap. | 4. The fully installed insulation jacket then covers all sides of the container. There is a zipper in the front of the door for access to the container, which can be fully opened for loading and unloading. |
